Sappada is the northernmost valley of the Veneto. Surrounded by pristine nature, it borders the Val Pusteria in South Tyrol, Austria and the Italian Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Here, in the land of Olympic champions such as Silvio Fauner, Pietro Piller and Marina Piller, the sport of cross-country skiing has a long tradition. Cross-country skiing in Sappada can be done on tracks that total 15 km amidst the woods and on the rings for beginners. There is also a cross-country skiing stadium where competitions to international level are held.
The 5km ring is, perhaps, the most competitive, because, after passing the river Piave, you will face the legendary Camosci (Chamois) climb, followed by a long and exciting descent and then the Lechpoch climb before returning to the CROSS COUNTRY SKIING STADIUM.
